 G-d's Minute Weekly Bible Study 3rd September 2026

    *****IMPORTANT Read This First:*****
     All verses are taken from the Original Transcripts, written in
 Hebrew, Aramaic & Greek. The Numbers that follow words in the
 verses will correspond with the Numbers in the Strong's
 Concordance with a Hebrew Dictionary, thus making it very easy
 to look up there meanings.  This is because any true teacher of
 God's Word will always give you a way to check out what they
 are teaching!

     Now let us begin with.....


                                Genesis, Chapter 45

 45:1 Then Joseph could not refrain ( 1065 ) himself before all them
 that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me.
 And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known
 unto his brethren.

      “Joseph Could Not Refrain Himself” The word
      [ lªhit'apeeq ] ( 1065 ) is very emphatic; it signifies
      to force oneself to do something against their will.  
      Joseph could no longer constrain himself to act a
      feigned part-all the "brother" and the "son" rose up
      in him at once, and overpowered all his resolutions;
      he felt for his father.

 2 And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh
 heard.

      Joseph was now so overcome that he wept so
      loudly and could be heard throughout the entire
      palace!  ( see Genesis 46:29 )

 3 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; does my father
 yet live?  And his brethren could not answer him; for they were
 troubled at his presence.

      Joseph must have spoken in Hebrew instead of
      Egyptian.  Still his brothers could not believe that
      he was not dead!  Could it be true?  The Egyptian
      lord who held their very lives in his hands was
      their brother!

 4 And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you.
 And they came near.  And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom
 you sold into Egypt.

      Joseph realized that his appearance and his high
      position must have made his words unbelievable!
      Therefore he told them to come closer to see his
      face and hear his voice.  Fear must have filled his
      brothers by now!  Here they were, face to face,
      with a man who held their very lives in his hands.  
      Would Joseph take revenge?

 5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you
 sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.

      Joseph now used kindness to calm his brothers'
      fears. "God Sent Me Before You To Preserve Life,"
      Our Heavenly Father had worked through his
      brothers evil act and hateful attitudes to preserve
      not only Jacob's family, but also to found the
      Hebrew Nation.  This is a good example of how
      God often uses people to accomplish has plans,
      Even non-believers, and those with evil intentions!

 6 For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there
 are five years, in the which there shall neither be earning ( 2798 ) nor
harvest. ( 7105 )

 7 And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the
 earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

 8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath
 made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler
 throughout all the land of Egypt.

      "He Hath Made Me A Father To Pharaoh," It is
      now believed that "father" was a name of an office
      in Egypt, and that father of Pharaoh might among
      them signify the same as prime minister or the
      king's minister does among us.

 10 And thou salt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou salt be near
 unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy
 flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast:

     Joseph told his brothers that they must move to
      Egypt and live there.  Now remember that, this
      was God's Plan, for He had told Abram that his
      descendants would live in a foreign land
      ( see Genesis 15:13-26 )

 11 And there will I nourish thee; for yet there are five years of famine;
 lest thou, and thy household, and all that thou hast, come to poverty.

      Now with his family close by, Joseph could make
      sure that his family would have enough during the
      famine years.

 12 And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin,
 that it is my mouth ( 6319 ) that speaks to you.

      "My Mouth,".....Joseph still had to convince his
      brothers that he was their brother!

 13 And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that
 ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither.

 14 And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and
 Benjamin wept upon his neck.

      “He fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck” Among
      the Asiatics kissing the beard, the neck and the
      shoulders, is in use to the present day, and probably
      falling on the neck signifies no more than kissing
      the neck or shoulders, with his arms around him.

 15 Moreover he kissed all his brethren, and wept upon them: and
 after that his brethren talked with him.

 16 And the fame thereof was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying,
 Joseph's brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his
 servants.

 17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do
 ye; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan;

 18 And take your father and your households, and come unto me:
 and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat
 the fat of the land.

      This is another example of how much Pharaoh
      thought of Joseph.  Also God worked through
      Pharaoh to provide the best for Joseph!

 19 Now thou art commanded, this do ye; take you wagons out of the
 land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your
 father, and come.

 20 Also regard not your stuff; ( 3627)  for the good of all the land of
 Egypt is yours.

      "Regard Not Your Stuff" Literally means, "Let not
      you worry about your instruments or vessels."

      "Stuff" is a Hebrew word [ Kliy, ] a general term,
      which may include household furniture, agricultural
      utensils, or implements of any description.  They
      were not to delay nor burden themselves with
      articles which could be readily found in Egypt, and
      were not worth so long a journey.


 21 And the children of Israel did so: and Joseph gave them wagons,
 ( 5699 ) according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them
 provision for the way.

      "Joseph Gave Them Wagons," `[ Galah ], which,
      though not used as a verb in the Hebrew Bible,
      evidently means "to turn round, roll round, be
      circular," etc., and hence, very properly applied
      to wheel carriages.  It appears from this that such
      vehicles were very early in use, and that the road
      from Egypt to Canaan must have been very open
      and much frequented or else such carriages could
      not have passed on it.

 22 To all of them he gave each man changes of raiment; but to
 Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes
 of raiment.

      Benjamin, the brother who was at the greatest risk
      ( see Ch. 44 ) now received the greatest blessing.

 23 And to his father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with
 the good things of Egypt, and ten she asses laden with corn and
 bread and meat for his father by the way.

 24 So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and he said
 unto them, See that ye fall not out ( 7264 ) by the way. ( 1870 )

      "See That You Fall Not Out By The Way." This
      prudent caution was given by Joseph, to prevent
      his brothers from accusing each other for having
      sold him; and to prevent them from envying
      Benjamin, for the superior favor shown him by
      his brother. It is strange, but so it is, that children
      of the same parents are apt to envy each other,
      however a rational, religious education will, under
      God, should prevent everything of this sort.

 25 And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan
 unto Jacob their father,

 26 And told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor
 over all the land of Egypt.  And Jacob's heart fainted, for he
 believed them not.

      Think of the shock it must have been to Jacob!
      Not only was the son that he had thought to be
      dead still alive, but also the number two man
      of Egypt as well!

 27 And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said
 unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent
 to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived:

 28 And Israel said, It is enough; Joseph my son is yet alive: I will
 go and see him before I die.

      So Jacob and his family moved to Egypt, and as
      we will soon learn, his brothers would become the
      founding father's of the twelve tribes of the nation
      of Israel.

     Now, that concludes our study on The Book of GENESIS.
