 This Day's Thought 25th February 2025

Adversity is not simply a tool. It is God’s most effective tool for the advancement of our spiritual lives. The circumstances and events that we see as setbacks are oftentimes the very things that launch us into periods of intense spiritual growth. Once we begin to understand this, and accept it as a spiritual fact of life, adversity becomes easier to bear.

May your hearts live forever!1 There is a seventeen-year age gap between my youngest brother and me. My mom had in me a built-in babysitter and so, my baby sibling and I became very close. However, a year later, when the time came for me to leave home, my brother, who had become very attached to me, found it hard to let me go. Years later, due to the fact that my family was serving in a church in Mexico, I decided to return to my parent's home during my pregnancy to receive maternity care in the States.
