Give Everything to God

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.1

 

Our Heavenly Father is interested in every detail of our lives. If we want Him to work in a particular area (relationships, finances, vocation, habits, or anything else) we must be willing to give Him what He asks of us. 

We may believe that we have no attachments standing between us and the Lord, but He knows our hearts. Ask Him to guide you and help you get to a situation where you can say, "Lord, if that's what You desire, I'll give it to You." 

It's hard to be obedient without reservation if we cling too tightly to something. The Lord wants us to be consecrated exclusively to Him. You may have a multitude of things that God has blessed you with, but the moment any of them control you, His work in your life will be blocked. But when you open your hands, holding on to nothing, the power of the Holy Spirit will flow unimpeded through you. Then you can experience freedom. 

Is there anything you feel like you could never give up? Seriously consider whether that keeps you captive (Romans 6:19-23). Surrender that relationship, possession, or situation to the Lord right now so that He can give you the freedom you have been longing for. 

Suggested Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, at this time, I ask You to examine my heart and reveal to me through Your Spirit if there is any area of my life that I have not yet fully surrendered to You. I want to surrender everything to You. Father take control of my life, I want to be obedient to You and give You every area of my life today and always. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
