Charles Spurgeon's "Morning & Evening" Devotional: June 19th

Charles Spurgeon's "Morning & Evening" Devotional: June 19th Morning “The Lord is known by the judgment which He executeth.” 2 Kings 9:1-7 , 2 Kings 9:14 , 2 Kings 9:21-26 , 2 Kings 9:30-37 2 Kings 9:1-3 He was not to wait for fee or reward. Those who do the Lord’s business must not be loiterers or saunterers. God’s angels fly swiftly, and God’s prophets must go on his errands with speed. 2 Kings 9:14 He was probably the commander-in-chief and it was no new thing in the history of Israel for such persons to dethrone the monarch. 2 Kings 9:14 Therefore he had left Jehu in command in Ramoth-gilead, and Jehu, having revolted, hastened with all his cavalry to Jezreel, to attack Joram, who lay there sick of wounds received in battle. When Jehu was perceived by the watchmen on the walls of the palace, the king sent messengers who at once deserted to Jehu’s side. The king therefore resolved to confront his rebellious captain, but it was a foolhardy action, and ended in his ...

Charles Spurgeon's "Faith's Checkbook" Devotional for June 19

Charles Spurgeon's "Faith's Checkbook" Devotional for June 19 “A Sound Heart ”  - Psalms 119:80 We may regard this inspired prayer as containing within itself the assurance that those who keep close to the Word of God shall never have cause to be ashamed of doing so.  See, the prayer is for soundness of heart. A sound creed is good, a sound judgment concerning it is better, but a sound heart toward the truth is best of all. We must love the truth, feel the truth, and obey the truth, otherwise we are not truly sound in God’s statutes. Are there many in these evil days who are sound? Oh, that the writer and the reader may be two of this sort!  Many will be ashamed in the last great day, when all disputes will be decided. Then they will see the folly of their inventions and be filled with remorse because of their proud infidelity and willful defiance of the LORD; but he who believed what the LORD taught and did what the LORD commanded will stand forth justified in what...

Morning and Evening with A.W. Tozer Devotional for June 19

Morning and Evening with A.W. Tozer Devotional for June 19 Tozer in the Morning Applying the Test of Biblical Accuracy The tests for spiritual genuineness are two: First, the leader must be a good man and full of the Holy Ghost. Christianity is nothing if not moral. . . . But the test of moral goodness is not enough. Every man must submit his work to the scriptural test. It is not enough that he be able to quote from the Bible at great length or that he claim for himself great and startling experiences with God. Go back to the law and to the testimony. If he speak not according to the Word it is because there is no light in him. We who are invited to follow him have every right, as well as a solemn obligation, to test his work according to the Word of God. We must demand that every claimant for our confidence present a clean bill of health from the Holy Scriptures; that he do more than weave in a text occasionally, or hold up the Bible dramatically before the eyes of his hearers. ...

Days of Heaven on Earth Devotional for June 19

Days of Heaven on Earth Devotional for June 19 “Who hath first given to Him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again” (Romans 11:35) The Christian women of the world have it in their power, by a very little sacrifice, to add millions to the treasury of the Lord. Beloved sisters, have you found the joy of sacrifice for Jesus? Have you given up something that you might give it to Him? Are you giving your substance to Jesus? He will take it, and He will give you a thousandfold more. I should rather be connected with a work founded on great sacrifice than on enormous endowments. The reason God loved the place where His ancient temple rose in majesty was because there Abraham offered his son and David his treasure. The reason redemption is so dear to the Father and the heavenly world is because its foundation-stone is the Cross of Calvary. And the Christian life that is dearest to the heart of God, and will rise to the highest glory and usefulness, is the one whose foundation princi...

Worthy Brief - June 19, 2026

Worthy Brief - June 19, 2026  The glory was given for the Kingdom! John 17:22  And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:  Isaiah 6:3  And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!"  One sentence in Yeshua’s (Jesus') final prayer reveals the strategy of the Kingdom: “The glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.” Notice the order. He does not say unity produces glory; He says glory produces unity. The Father shared His own glory with the Son, and the Son shares that same glory with His people so they might become a visible expression of His Kingdom in the earth. Glory is not merely something to experience -- it is something that creates a people who live under the same King. Isaiah heard the seraphim proclaim, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.” The heavenly ...

Wayside Chapel Daily Devotional 19th June 2026

Wayside Chapel Daily Devotional 19th June 2026 June 19 1 Kings 17:2-4 2Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah: 3"Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. 4You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there." Elijah had just predicted that until he prayed for rain there would be no rain. Then God sent Elijah to a hide from the king and provided for him in a rather unusual way. The ravens brought him the ingredients for sandwiches. If you've ever watched ravens eat, you know they do not like to share. That's quite a miracle. God is Lord over His creation. I once read a story of a Chinese brother who was imprisoned for his faith. The guards withheld his food because he would not renounce Christ, so the LORD ordered mice to bring him food. He probably ate better on what the mice brought than if the prison had served him his meals. Jesus told us not to worry about what we will eat or wear because we have a ...
