The glory was given for the Kingdom!
John 17:22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:
Isaiah 6:3 And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!"
One sentence in Yeshua’s (Jesus') final prayer reveals the strategy of the Kingdom: “The glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.” Notice the order. He does not say unity produces glory; He says glory produces unity. The Father shared His own glory with the Son, and the Son shares that same glory with His people so they might become a visible expression of His Kingdom in the earth. Glory is not merely something to experience -- it is something that creates a people who live under the same King.
Isaiah heard the seraphim proclaim, “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.” The heavenly perspective is striking. They did not speak of a world abandoned to darkness but of a creation already belonging to its rightful King. The Kingdom message is learning to see the world from heaven’s perspective and then living in such a way that others begin to see it as well.
This is why Yeshua could entrust His glory to ordinary men and women. The glory of God is not merely radiant light or overwhelming power -- it is the visible expression of His nature. Wherever His people walk in humility, truth, righteousness, mercy, forgiveness, and covenant love, the character of the King is made visible. The Kingdom advances not only through proclamation but through a people whose lives testify that another King reigns.
John’s prayer also reveals why division is so destructive. A fractured body obscures the King it is called to reveal, while a reconciled people become a living witness that the Father has sent the Son. The one new man is therefore more than a theological idea -- it is the public demonstration of the Kingdom, where believing Jew and Gentile stand together under one Lord and one covenant hope. The glory entrusted to them becomes a testimony that no human effort could produce.
The story of Scripture ends exactly where this prayer points. “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with men” [Revelation 21:3]. The glory given to believers today is the firstfruits of that coming reality, preparing the nations for the day when every kingdom yields to the reign of the King and His presence fills all things.
Stop waiting for God to reveal His Kingdom through someone else. The King has already entrusted you with His glory so that His nature can be seen through your life. Every choice to forgive instead of retaliate, to serve instead of seek recognition, to pursue righteousness instead of compromise, becomes a declaration that Yeshua reigns. Live today as one who carries the character of the King, knowing that every act of faithful obedience strengthens His testimony in the earth and hastens the day when His glory is recognized by every nation.
Your family in the Lord with much agape love,
George & Baht Rivka (Maryland)
