Wayside Chapel Daily Devotional 25th January 2024 1/25 Genesis 24:7 7 The LORD, the God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my kindred, and who spoke to me and swore to me, 'To your offspring I will give this land,' he will send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there. The servant of Abraham was made to take an oath that he would find a wife for Isaac from Abraham's relatives. When the servant questioned what he was to do if the woman would not return with him, Abraham assured him that God would intervene and make it happen with angelic assistance. Abraham added that if it was not so, the servant would be released from his oath. Abraham had confidence because of his past experience with God including the promises God had given him. Isaac is a type or shadow of Messiah. Isaac carried the wood up the slopes of Mount Moriah on which he was to die just as Jesus would do in the distant future. God saved Isaac just ...
