Today's Daily Encounter 27th October 2022 Words   "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver."1 Words are such a precious thing. With words we can move people to laugh, to cry, to love us or to hate us. With words we can inspire some to noble deeds of kindness, or if we are so inclined, we can persuade others to dastardly deeds of violence and evil.       Powerful statements can be made from simple quotes. I love reading inspirational quotes and post them in several locations around my home and office. Many times it is these simple quotes that motivate me the most! God is good! When I am in touch with reality enough to see how good God has been to me, I am convicted to respond in some way. A vision of the goodness of God comes only by the grace of God. Left to ourselves, we would only focus on what was not pleasing us at the moment. Our old nature is extremely negative and loves to be critical. But when the grace of God opens our eyes for a moment, when He breaks through that veil of darkness that our carnal nature casts over our vision, then we see His great goodness.
