Charles Spurgeon's "Faith's Checkbook" Devotional: June 1st

Charles Spurgeon's "Faith's Checkbook" Devotional: June 1st “God’s Promise Keeps ” - Ecclesiastes 11:1 We must not expect to see an immediate reward for all the good we do; nor must we always confine our efforts to places and persons which seem likely to yield us a recompense for our labors. The Egyptian casts his seed upon the waters of the Nile, where it might seem a sheer waste of corn. But in due time the flood subsides, the rice or other grain sinks into the fertile mud, and rapidly a harvest is produced. Let us today do good to the unthankful and the evil. Let us teach the careless and the obstinate. Unlikely waters may cover hopeful soil. Nowhere shall our labor be in vain in the LORD. It is ours to cast our bread upon the waters; it remains with God to fulfill the promise "Thou shalt find it." He will not let His promise fail. His good word which we have spoken shall live, shall be found, shall be found by us, Perhaps not just yet, but some day we s...

Morning and Evening with A.W. Tozer Devotional: June 1st

Morning and Evening with A.W. Tozer Devotional: June 1st Tozer in the Morning EVERY HINDRANCE REMOVED There are many legal and governmental reasons why lost men and women should not go to heaven! It should not be difficult for us to acknowledge that a holy and righteous God must run His universe according to holy law - and we do not belong there because we have broken every one of those holy laws in some way! Therefore, there must be an effective redemption, a justification of some kind if we are to have God and He is to have us! Thank God, it has been done! The New Testament language is as plain as can be-in Christ through His death and resurrection, every legal hindrance has been met and satisfied: taken away! There is nothing that can keep us from assurance except our own selves. Let us quit trying to think our way in, to reason our way in. The only way to get in is to believe Him with our hearts forevermore! Tozer in the Evening When Interests Collide Whether we are considerin...

Worthy Brief - June 1, 2026

Worthy Brief - June 1, 2026 You are living between two declarations! John 19:30  When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.  Revelation 21:6  And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.  As we continue our study of the Kingdom of God, I want to pause and compare two remarkable declarations that stand like pillars at opposite ends of the redemption story. The first was spoken by Yeshua (Jesus) from the cross: “It is finished.” The second is declared from the throne in Revelation: “It is done.” At first glance, they may sound almost identical, but in the Greek they are not the same. They reveal two distinct moments in God’s unfolding plan. At Calvary, Yeshua cried out, Tetelestai. In the New Jerusalem, the Father declares, Gegonan. The first announces that redemption has ...

Wayside Chapel Daily Devotional 1st June 2026

Wayside Chapel Daily Devotional 1st June 2026 June 1 2 Samuel 9:6-8 6When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed down to pay him honor. David said, "Mephibosheth!" "Your servant," he replied. 7"Don't be afraid," David said to him, "for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table." 8Mephibosheth bowed down and said, "What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?" David remembered his covenant with Jonathan. Though he was in a position of power and needed to answer to none, he knew he must answer to God. David asked a former servant of Saul if there was any of Saul's family left. Only Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan survived. He was crippled in both feet. Mephibosheth came fearing for his life, but David wanted only to bless him. He restored al...
