Days of Heaven on Earth Devotional for March 22

Days of Heaven on Earth Devotional for March 22 “Hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end” (Hebrews 3:6) The attitude of faith is simple trust. It is Elijah saying to Ahab, “There is a sound of abundance of rain.” But then there comes usually a deeper experience in which the prayer is inwrought; it is Elijah on the mount, with his face between his knees, travailing, as it were, in birth for the promised blessing. He has believed for it—and now he must take. The first is Joash shooting the arrow out of the windows, but the second is Joash smiting on the ground and following up his faith by perseverance and victorious testing. It is in this latter place that many of us come short. We ask much from God, and when God proceeds to give it to us we are not found equal to His expectation. We are made partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, and trust Him through it all. Fainting soldier of the Lord, Hear His sweet...

Charles Spurgeon's "Faith's Checkbook" Devotional for March 22

Charles Spurgeon's "Faith's Checkbook" Devotional for March 22 “Grace for the Humble ”  - James 4:6 Humble hearts seek grace, and therefore they get it. Humble hearts yield to the sweet influences of grace, and so it is bestowed on them more and more largely. Humble hearts lie in the valleys where streams of grace are flowing, and hence they drink of them, Humble hearts are grateful for grace and give the LORD the glory of it, and hence it is consistent with His honor to give it to them.  Come, dear reader, take a lowly place. Be little in thine own esteem, that the LORD may make much of thee. Perhaps the sigh breaks out, "I fear I am not humble." It may be that this is the language of true humility. Some are proud of being humble, and this is one of the very worst sorts of pride. We are needy, helpless, undeserving, hell-deserving creatures, and if we are not humble we ought to be. Let us humble ourselves because of our sins against humility, and then the ...

Wayside Chapel Daily Devotional 22nd March 2026

Wayside Chapel Daily Devotional 22nd March 2026 March 22 Deuteronomy 5:21 21"You shall not covet your neighbor's wife. You shall not set your desire on your neighbor's house or land, his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor." Hello America! Lust will be our undoing. What God has given to others should cause you to be glad, not envious. Envy and selfishness are clear signals that we are walking in the flesh (our old nature). To desire to take your neighbor's possessions shows you have allowed your heart to become idolatrous (putting a thing before God). What follows is theft, adultery, working on your Sabbath, and ignoring God to get what your heart has fixed itself on. Every day commercials bombard us with things to lust after. Advertisers always imply that owning their product will bring you happiness. That has some truth. Material things often do bring a shallow and temporal happiness. Physical things never affe...
